White Tiger

The Rare Ghost of the Wild

White tigers are among the most striking and rare animals in the world, captivating zoo visitors with their ethereal beauty and majestic presence. A variation of the Bengal tiger, white tigers owe their unique coloration to a genetic mutation called leucism, which results in their creamy white fur with dark stripes and icy blue eyes. These extraordinary creatures are not a separate species but a rare variant that occurs once in every 10,000 births in the wild.

  • Physical Characteristics and Unique Traits

The white tiger’s pale fur provides little camouflage in natural settings, making them ill-suited for survival in the wild. However, in a zoo environment, this coloration becomes a source of fascination. Their powerful build, large paws, and sharp claws make them just as formidable as their orange relatives. Adult males can weigh up to 500 pounds, with females slightly smaller.
